Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Skagit County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means that you accept the terms below. Do not continue to use the site if you disagree with them.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned site is not affiliated with a government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers a service for any purpose controlled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), including credit, employment, insurance, or tenant decisions. Its role is limited to helping readers locate Skagit County and Washington criminal-record resources. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government relationship. It does not store official criminal records, submit filings, retrieve documents, or conduct official checks.

The site identifies record holders such as the Skagit County Sheriff, the Superior Court Clerk's Odyssey route, the county jail roster, Washington State Patrol, and the Washington Sex Offender Public Registry framework. It may also connect visitors with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on the following restrictions:

  • Do not use automated bots or scrapers against the pages
  • Do not stalk, intimidate, threaten, or harass anyone with information found here
  • Do not attempt unauthorized access to site systems
  • Do not use the content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Do not interfere with performance or another visitor’s access
  • Do not violate federal, Washington, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool may not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Washington registry disclosure under RCW 4.24.550 is intended for public safety. Misuse of Washington Sex Offender Public Registry information against a listed person may be criminal. Vigilante conduct and prohibited employment or housing action are forbidden.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer, credit, or background reports. Site content and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Set insurance terms or judge creditworthiness
  • Make hiring or firing decisions
  • Evaluate renters or housing applicants
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A lawful check for a regulated purpose must come from Washington State Patrol or a provider that complies with the FCRA and all other applicable law.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. A licensed Washington attorney should address how a charge, warrant, conviction, vacation, or sealing rule applies to a specific case.

6. No Warranties

All content is supplied "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • Partner search results are complete or correct
  • Information remains accurate, complete, or current
  • The service is uninterrupted
  • Pages contain no error, defect, or security weakness

Criminal records change when charges are filed, amended, dismissed, vacated, or sealed. Gaps and stale details can occur. No site content is an official statement by a court, sheriff, or agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff pages, courts, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. We do not control an external site’s content, availability, fees, or data practices. Its own terms govern after a visitor leaves this site.

8. Intellectual Property

Skagit County Criminal History or its content partners own the site’s text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, distribution, modification, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from site use or reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and proceedings caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Washington law governs these terms, including applicable principles under the Consumer Protection Act, chapter 19.86 RCW. Any dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in Washington.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected text will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.
